The Fiction of War

On November 15, 2013, Vietnam War veterans and authors, Tim O’Brien and Karl Marlantes sat down together to talk about literature, war, politics, and writing. Their conversation became the Pritzker Military Museum & Library’s Emmy nominated Citizen Soldier broadcast episode The Fiction of War. During this program, O’Brien expressed a sentiment that would become one of the main themes of the Hunting Charlie exhibit: “It’s as if we had no enemy.”
