Specialist 5 Richard A. “Dick” Durrance, U.S. Army, 1968

A bare-chested quintet plays hot jazz at Camp Evans (aka LZ Evans), located in the I Corps Tactical Zone on a coastal plain near Phong Điền and northwest of Hue in Thừa Thiên Province. Initially a United States Marine Corps position, Camp Evans later served as Headquarters for the U.S. Army 1st Cavalry Division and then for the 101st Airborne Brigade, from 1968 to 1972.
