Spanish Campaign Medal
Two versions of the Spanish Campaign Medal were created, one for th Army and one for the Navy. The Army version of the Medal was established on January 12, 1905
Awarded for service ashore in or on the high seas en route to Cuba, Puerto Rico, and the Philippine Islands between May and August 1898, the Spanish Campaign Medal was established in 1918. Erasmus Corwin Gilbreath was eligible for the Spanish Campaign Medal for his service in Puerto Rico between August 2, 1898 and August 13, 1898.
