100 Years Later, World War I To Get National Memorial In Washington

Washington, D.C. has a national memorial for every major American war – except World War I. That will soon change, however.

Organizers have broken ground in Pershing Park for a national memorial to be dedicated in 2018, the 100th anniversary of the end of the war. The memorial will feature a new wall with bronze sculptures depicting the “doughboys” fighting and caring for the wounded. Read more.
